Coach & Speaker
Just getting her start in speaking and stepping into the health and fitness industry, Kiara is from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and has lived lot of life in her 28 years. She's lived in 5 countries, multiple states, and has found success in both athletics and business.
Growing up, Kiara was an athlete but that career came to an abrupt stop when she broke multiple vertebrae in her back. Out of that, she gained weight rapidly and found herself at about 240Lbs. She ultimately developed an unhealthy relationship with food which evolved into an eating disorder.
Her journey took her to University of Louisville where she stumbled upon competitive rowing. Getting back into athletics led to almost 50lbs lost in her first semester at college, albeit it was far from healthy. While on the novice team, she slowly started learning how to eat to fuel performance versus for weight loss and made the varsity team to compete in the ACC for the entirety of her 4-year career. This career led to discovering self-care, what "grit" actually means, and how to push for more in every area of life.
During her senior year in school, Kiara lived in Poland and worked at the World Games in 2017. She discovered that her love for competition was still very much alive and decided to pursue her Olympic dream and Googled her way onto the US Bobsled team and living/training at the Olympic Training Center in Johnson City, TN with several members of the Olympic team.
While pursuing her Olympic dreams, Kiara was looking for a career route she could pursue in tandem to pay the bills. She followed a gut intuition and walked into El Toro, a niche IP targeting programmatic advertising vendor in downtown Louisville. She didn't know what they did or where to start but found an unlocked door, walked in, and demanded to see the Director of Sales. Long story short, she told them they needed to hire her... even if she had no clue what they did, she knew she could sell. She started her career in Ad-Tech a few days later.
Her career in Ad-Tech ultimately led her to move to Washington D.C. to consult the 2020 Donald Trump Presidential campaign and several down-ballot campaigns across the country. Similar to the rest of her journey, it was a turn she never predicted but learned more than she ever could have bargained for about strategy, business, and the power of networking.
While competing in Switzerland shortly after for bobsled, Kiara had a traumatic crash at approximately 105km/hr and found herself yet again injured and on the sidelines. She came back to the US with a TBI and an inability to read or write for almost 2 weeks immediately following the injury.
Her journey was filled with challenges including a second TBI when competing in Whistler, CA and ultimately decided the journey to the Olympics was not for her, at least in bobsled. She instead focused on her career in DC and continued to train on the side for general health and wellness. Unfortunately her time in DC resulted in a devastating sexual assault, which pushed her to re-evaluate what her ultimate aim in life is.
During COVID, Kiara moved back to Denver, CO to continue working remotely while surrounded by family! She decided to step away from Adtech shortly following and picked a spot on the map to move and regroup. She ended up meeting the love of her life and moving to Bozeman, MT. Her now husband, Chris, was military and while their love story was unfolding, he received orders to move to Italy for his next duty station. 9 months into dating, Kiara and Chris got married and moved across the world.
Shortly after the move, the war in Ukraine kicked off just a few countries over and Kiara's sweet husband had to deploy no-notice and no-contact. She was absolutely destroyed, thinking her new husband was now dead or going to die. While Kiara had struggled previously with mental health, this was a new low. She was ready to take her life but found redemption and purpose in her training and stumbled into bodybuilding.
Shortly after Chris returned from his deployment, Kiara moved back to the US to be with family and friends and has lived between Colorado and Italy for the last two years. In that time, she's competed in Olympic Weightlifting and now bodybuilding, she's returned to AdTech, completed post-graduate education at the likes of MIT, Yale, and Harvard focusing on cybersecurity and data management, and now building her business in the corporate health and wellness space to pursue what she loves most- fitness.
The last two years for Kiara have been full of adventure but also more than challenging with the loss of two children, making marriage work from 5,000 miles away, and continuing to progress her career in business and athletics. But she's realized the challenges in life are where we learn the most and has been thankful for every challenge she's overcome. She uses this insight and experience to help others in her network and push them to be their best.
