03:24 I want to start off today with this podcast with a question. Have you ever heard of the

03:30 show? The Nickelodeon show called Avatar, The Last Airbender? Well, it always holds a special place

03:41 in one of my favorite TV shows. Maybe the my favorite TV show, maybe at that probably

03:51 is a number one position in my favorite of TV shows. And that says something. And if you haven't

04:01 heard of it, I'll give you a little brief history lesson on the show. But before I dive into it,

04:14 I'll just say this show has taught me a lot of life lessons. And that's what we're going to talk

04:25 about today. And so sit back, relax, and enjoy. So for those of you who don't know what Avatar,

04:38 The Last Airbender is, it's a Nickelodeon show that aired 2005 to 2008. I could be wrong about

04:49 the dates. It feels like it's been a lifetime ago. It's about this young avatar who has to master all

05:00 the four elements before the Fire Lord takes over the whole world. I'm not going to do any spoilers

05:11 because I absolutely hate spoilers. And it ruins everything. If you're curious about the show and

05:20 you want to watch it, it's currently on the Netflix right now. And for those who follow me on social

05:26 media, you have probably seen that I've been re-watching it for probably the 100th time.

05:34 And like I said, it's an entertaining show because the characters are lovable and relatable.

05:46 It's filled with adventure, action, and drama. And it does cover some real problems around...

05:58 It does discuss some real problems as political figures in it like kings and

06:10 fire lords and princesses and princes and prince. Yeah, whatever. And it also deals with warfare

06:30 and genocide. But the show doesn't talk at you like you're the root cause of this or that.

06:43 It just takes you on an adventure. And some people might think it's a kid show because it's animated,

06:49 but it's truly not because it deals with all these issues.

06:55 But it doesn't talk at you like some of those shows do that just kind of just say,

07:03 oh, you're the root cause of this and the root cause of that. We got to fix ourselves and whatnot.

07:13 And so it's not like too big. Like I said, it doesn't talk at you. It talks kind of with you.

07:26 But I'm going to take a twist on all of this and I'm going to put a positive spin on it because

07:34 some people just don't like when shows just talk at you. And to be honest, I kind of disagree with

07:43 the show, but some of those articles out there that says that this show talks about

07:50 why it's a political warfare and genocide, maybe to an extent, but I feel like it's a

07:57 kind of a reach just to be honest. Like a really, really big reach.

08:07 But the characters in the show has taught me quite a bit of life lessons.

08:14 So the first character I want to talk about is the avatar himself. His name is Aime.

08:19 There are so many ads these days wherever you go. There are ads in movie theaters, on TV,

08:30 on radio, and on billboards. So why would you want to listen to ads in a podcast?

10:18 I'm not going to destroy the story, but he's 12 years old and he always knows when to have

10:27 fun and he's always happy to help people no matter where that person came from, whether it's the

10:38 Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, or the Water Tribe. He's willing to help anybody, even animals.

10:51 He knows when to meditate, to relax, to take his mind off of things. Don't forget, he has to save

10:59 the whole gosh-darn world and everything's weighing on his shoulders. That's a big task.

11:07 No pressure. Don't screw up or anything. Yeah, screw up. It's not going to end well for anybody.

11:18 So no pressure or anything.

11:28 And he knows how to keep his friends close, even if his friends are fighting or amongst

11:41 each other. He always knows how to keep the peace. He's always ready to have a quick laugh

11:48 when the time, even in tough circumstances. And he's always sticking up to bullies like,

12:01 what's a good example of this? One of the episodes, he sticks up to Jet. He's a freedom fighter and

12:11 he takes things too far. Again, I'm not going to spoil any episodes, but that's basically who Jet

12:19 is. I like to call those people hotheads. He is a hothead. I think he's one of the most annoying

12:31 characters in the series, to be honest. Or that and the guy who says, my cabbages.

12:41 I can't stop cracking up when I hear that line. Too bad that guy only shows up in four episodes,

12:49 but he's actually on this list at the moment. So the next character I want to talk about, Katara.

12:57 She always lends a helping hand no matter who needs it. Yeah, it kind of sounds similar to

13:03 the Avatar. Doesn't let dumb roles get in her way. Well, one of the, not to spoil too much,

13:16 she stood up to the waterbending master in the North Pole. It won't teach her because their

13:23 customs, only the male fighters, only the males can learn waterbending and not the women. And she

13:37 has to become a healer. Well, if anybody's seen the episode, you know exactly what happened.

13:43 I'm not going to spoil it. But let's just tell you, I'll give you a little sneak peek is that all

13:53 I'm going to say is she basically stood her ground and she doesn't take no for an answer.

14:04 And she always remains positive, even through the fact that she's a female.

14:09 And she always remains positive, even through her very, very, very, very, very hard times.

14:18 I can give you an example. In the second part of the, when the whole game was in the desert,

14:28 but that secret hidden library, or the ancient secret library, they, like something bad happened

14:41 to one of the animals that Ing has. And I can say who or what. And they had to get themselves out

15:03 of the desert. And some people might have given up and it's like, oh, well, there's no easy way to

15:15 get out of the desert. And some might just say, we're doomed. But a guitar said, no, we're getting

15:30 out of this together. And so she's always had a positive mindset on how to get out of sticky

15:39 situations. Man, I could need, I could use that right now. Next person, Saka. He's very simple.

15:56 He's full of sarcasm. But one of his biggest traits and life lessons he taught me is always

16:05 have a plan. I have a, I basically have like a huge plan for my website, my podcast, my newsletter,

16:16 my shop and everything. And if that doesn't work out, I have multiple other plans in place. So he

16:28 taught me on how I should always have a plan, but be prepared for something to change in an instant.

16:39 And sometimes I do well with this and sometimes I do not do well with this. It's more, sometimes it

16:47 leans towards not doing well with this. I have to admit that. The next person on my list, Ikki,

16:58 that I've learned some life lessons from is Zuko. No matter what you have done in the past, when

17:09 you're younger, there's always a way you can redeem yourself. And I'm not going to, I'm not going to

17:22 say that I'm going to be a good father, but I'm going to be a good father. And I'm not going to,

17:32 he is the Fire Lord's son. And he's set on a journey to capture the Avatar. And he never,

17:46 never does. The Avatar disappeared a hundred years ago and no one's seen him since until

17:55 Aang showed up. But I'm not going to, again, no spoilers, but there's always a way to redeem

18:07 yourself. And if you have done something when you're wrong, when you were a kid, which I

18:14 have, then going forward and doing these podcasts and blogging and trying to help people is my

18:24 redemption. He also taught me, don't always think that everything needs to be done yourself,

18:34 which is true because, well, actually he doesn't let me, I'm going to change that. He didn't teach

18:44 me that. His uncle did and I'll get to him in a second. And he also taught me, listen to others.

18:54 Zuko is always jumping to conclusions and he's not listening to other people and doing what he's told.

19:01 He kind of speaks out of turns and he always, yeah, he's always, he has a hard time listening

19:12 to adults around him and who just wants the best for him. I think we can all agree on that

19:20 or relate to that at least. Then there's Uncle Iroh. He used to be a general in the Fire Nation.

19:31 And I'm not going to get to his whole backstory because that was, there was an episode on,

19:39 yeah, you hear about his backstory in the show. So no need for, to go through all that.

19:56 So his life lessons that he taught me was always seek good in people.

20:02 And don't always think somebody's going to do something wrong to you or kind of like ruin your

20:14 reputation or whatever it is. Always seek good in people. He's always willing to give advice to

20:22 people that he just met. He's always willing to give advice to people that he just met.

20:28 He also taught me how to go with the flow kind of attitude. I'll give you an example of this.

20:39 Like, every time when, like, Zuko, when Iroh met him, he was like,

20:52 like Zuko, when Iroh misplaces something or he kind of redirects his ship or

21:06 the ship that they're on in the first season to different merchants,

21:14 different merchants just to find a pie shirt chip and Zuko gets all annoyed and everything.

21:28 Are you stuck with, and you don't know what to do for dinner? Well, let me tell you about this

21:36 awesome, amazing company called Eat Clean Bro. You get healthy rice, you get healthy

21:42 recipes delivered right to your door. They're fresh, they're cooked for you. And all you have

21:50 to do is heat it up in a microwave or oven. It's simple, quick and easy, affordable. And

21:59 each meal is delicious. I found them through Tiger Shulman's Karate and I joined them and

22:09 partnered with them because I think you will like them too. And I absolutely love their meals.

22:16 They're fresh, authentic, and it's all around great food that you normally think of in a restaurant.

22:26 Oh gee, this would take hours to cook, but they already took out all the cooking for you. All you

22:35 have to do is heat it up in the microwave. How simple is that? Or the stove. I mean, all the

22:41 oven. So go check out Eat Clean Bro in the links in the show notes for more information about them.

22:48 The internet can be a distraction place. It's full of distractions like social media,

22:54 shopping, and so many more websites that are very distracting, just like video games and whatnot.

23:02 But it is all over the place. So much noise going on. Well, with a blocker tool like Freedom Blocker,

23:09 it can block all those distraction websites that you find distracting. I block RuneScape, Facebook,

23:18 Twitter, and all the social media marketing tools. Without Freedom Blocker, I wouldn't be able to

23:26 run crazyfitnessguy.com because I'd be distracted all day long. But thanks to them,

23:34 so I'm no longer distracted. Go to the website in the show notes for more information about

23:42 Freedom Blocker, for more information about what they do, what they are, and whatnot.

23:50 And you can, and the best part about Freedom Blocker, you can use it on all of your devices,

25:45 And I will say, I am glad I have an understanding nephew, and while Zuko is blowing steam out of

25:55 his nose and breath and everything, like I said, Zuko is very hot-headed and everything, and he

26:09 kind of hates just going with the flow of everything. So Iroh just has to go with the flow,

26:18 and we are just going to do this real quick. And then when Iroh did not even have the,

26:27 when he couldn't find the Pysho chip that he was looking for, he is at Zuko, and Zuko is like,

26:36 I am glad this whole trip was a waste of time. And Iroh is like, no, it is quite the opposite.

26:42 I found stuff that I did not even know that I needed on the ship. And he found some kind of

26:52 Sugi horn and a crazy statue with gems in it. So yeah, he is always going with the flow.

27:09 I am not going to tell you the ending of the episode. Iroh always believes people can change,

27:18 no matter what happened years ago. Like, he changed. He used to be a general, now he is

27:32 retired, and now he is just in an I do not care mood of what happens. And he is always filled with

27:45 positive wisdom. He always has something positive to say, and he is truly like a role model

27:54 that we could all follow in these tough times.

27:57 The next person is really not much to tell. Well, I should not say that, but

28:13 you do not get to meet her until the second season and know more about her throughout the

28:18 second season and third season. But Princess Azula has taught me a few life lessons.

28:25 Do not be a know-it-all. No one likes being a know-it-all. I will give you an example of this

28:30 one. She is one of her captains on the ship, said that the tides will not let them in the port

28:45 to dock and everything. And she said, I do not know much about the tides, but

28:50 who rules the ship? And the captain said, like you do. And if the tides think something along

29:03 the lines of, if she threw him overboard with the tides, think twice of throwing him into the rocks

29:14 or something. And he said, no. And yeah, she thinks that she knows pretty much everything.

29:25 And yeah, she thinks that even if, like sometimes the tides will not let you come into the dock.

29:35 And but she would not accept no for an answer. And she kind of is a know-it-all. She would not

29:45 accept anything less. And her character also taught me that a camera will bite you in the butt.

29:58 Here's an example. Actually, I'm not going to get to this example because if I do, it's going to

30:07 pretty much ruin all the second and third season. No, I should pretty much ruin the third season. So

30:14 I'm not going to do it. And also, and her character also taught me that she would not accept

30:22 no for an answer. And also, and her character also taught me don't manipulate others. And

30:34 if you've ever seen the show or want to see the show, you'll see how she manipulates a lot of

30:39 people. And another character I want to mention that there's really not much to talk about with

30:54 this person, but her name's Ty Lee in the show. She knows that she wants something different in

31:01 this one. I'm not going to say anything extra on this one because again, it kind of,

31:15 kind of, yeah, I'm not going to say it. No, that's just be ruining it.

31:21 The next character I want to talk about is Mei. Even though you don't really get to see any of

31:31 the Princess Azula or Ty Lee or Mei until the second or third season, Mei taught me that no

31:41 one wants to be around people who are always negative. She has the most bleakest, she's just

31:49 filled with negative on everything. She has no emotion in her voice. She's like literally,

32:00 yeah, she has no personality. She kind of has a personality of a brick wall,

32:05 yawn, boring and everything. Who wants to listen to that? Every time I listen to her voice in the

32:13 show, I was like, can we get to the next scene already? And I just went over

32:27 the cabbage seller who says, my cabbages. Every time when Aang and the gang goes to a new town,

32:38 that guy always seems to have a stall setting up a new stall somewhere and yet his stall keeps

32:46 breaking every single time. You kind of feel bad for him because he has really, really, really bad

32:57 luck. Oh my goodness. I think it was like either four or five times his cabbage stall broke and I

33:11 think he kind of gave up, but after the first two times or first few times anyway, he was really

33:21 persistent and keeps trying different things. But I think eventually he gives up or I think in the

33:30 comic books he finally rebuilt again, but I didn't read the comic books yet, which I'm hoping I can

33:39 get to them this summer. I'm looking forward to it. The next character is Firelord Ozai,

33:50 who's the biggest enemy in the show. Aang needs to fight. No spoilers, promise.

34:03 He taught me don't be too hard on your kids if you have kids because they will hate you later on.

34:14 No one should have so much power and he does. He wants to start expanding Fire Nation colonies

34:24 across the map and ruling the whole world. So no one should be able to do that. And

34:34 he doesn't take no for an answer.

34:36 Okay, I'm going to warn you. Here's a little spoiler and I'm sorry, but it can't be helped.

34:49 He asked the Firelord before him to cut Iroh out of the next Firelord in line to be Firelord and

35:01 the previous Firelord said, and he explained to me to say no to my first son, I'd be

35:13 Firelord and Ozai said yes and the guys said no. And he said,

35:22 and Ozai said yes and the guys and the previous Firelord said no. Well, Ozai didn't like it so

35:36 he had that Firelord killed and so in his steps and following his steps, Iroh didn't get the

35:46 Firelord position. Ozai did and that's why, and he doesn't take no for an answer and he doesn't

35:54 like no for an answer. And so he took the throne and now Aang needs to stop him and dethrone him.

36:05 Zhao, he is a commander Zhao in the first season and he got to Admiral, not really,

36:16 but he taught me to not be too full of yourself.

36:26 I'll give you an example, he's always thinking highly of himself like they're going to call me

36:35 Zhao the conqueror, Zhao the ruler, and he's always talking highly of, so highly of himself and say

36:46 oh yeah, this guy is totally, he's a commander Zhao. He's a commander Zhao.

36:51 He's always talking highly of himself and say oh yeah, this guy is totally full of himself and

36:58 he's like oh, it's got, and people are going to look up to me and he's like yeah, I'm sure not.

37:07 And he also taught me, don't always want something, don't always want something,

37:19 look, and I'm trying to rephrase this, he always wants something that he doesn't have.

37:28 So basically one could assume, say that always be grateful with what you have and not what you don't

37:41 have and yeah, because life's too short and yeah, Zhao, he is the most, one of the most annoying

37:56 characters. I don't know, did I find Princess, did I find Mei or Zhao the most annoying character in

38:03 the series? Maybe both. Yeah, so, oh, and before I wrap this podcast episode up, I just wanted to

38:17 have to mention this. It seems like the original Avatar

38:24 or directors or writers are making a Netflix show, either a show or a movie, and it's going to be with

38:42 live characters. I mean, it's not going to be animated and I hope it, I'm really hoping it's

38:53 going to be better than what M. Night Shyamalan has given us back in 2010, which was garbage.

39:02 Sorry, M. Night, I can't, I personally can't talk about Avatar and the Last Airbender without

39:15 mentioning The Last Airbender by M. Night. What an absolutely terrible movie. And if you want to

39:27 argue a spoiler of it, have you ever seen all the earth benders in,

39:36 have you ever seen all the earth benders in The Avatar, The Last Airbender,

39:42 Nickelodeon show? They can move, they basically, they can move mountains and big, huge big boulders

39:50 and rocks and mountains and whatnot and bend metal. You know what Shyamalan did? He gives,

39:58 he gives you an earthbend, he has an earthbending scene with eight earthbenders and it looked like

40:07 a dance scene and just to bend one small pebble, it took eight earthbenders. That's terrible.

40:22 Yeah, let's go dance our way to defy the lord, that's a great idea. Yeah, great idea. Not.

40:28 Anyway, I had to say that because you can't talk about one without mentioning the other.

40:39 And plus, it kind of hurt me last year that the original creators were going to create a fourth

40:50 season of Avatar, The Last Airbender, but Shyamalan just had it again.

40:56 Even though that the director said that wasn't really, he wasn't really in the way, but I kind of

41:01 feel like it was implied. But enough of that, but those are the life lessons that the show has taught

41:11 me and maybe there's even more, I mean there's other ones that, well, maybe there's other

41:19 characters that maybe you can relate with. And let me know what you think of this episode on social

41:30 media. I'm always thrilled, if you like Avatar, like myself, I'm always ready to talk about the

41:42 show because it's amazing, great storytelling, and it helps you to go on an adventure when you can't

41:52 really go anywhere because of the whole pandemic. And it's kind of nice. And it's an escape. Plus,

42:03 I have all the DVDs on my bookshelf, but I still waited for it to come out back on Netflix. Call

42:12 me lazy. I don't care. But I love the show. Anyway, I hope you like this episode.
