Technology For Autism Just Keeps Growing

I have to say that the technology for Autism keeps growing.  When I was in school I wish they had this kind of technology available for us to use.  I want to talk to you about this new technology that I just learned about that helps people and students with Autism communicate better with people.  So let's begin talking about Autism and assistive technology.

Little Information About Me

As you may or may not know about me is that I am on the Autistic spectrum.  Even though it's not severe like others, I am still on the spectrum.  Hey, I am not complaining I have accepted who I am.  I have a lot of family, friends, and other people who like me for who I am.  Some of those people have told me that I have come a long way and they are totally correct.  Again I am not going into the details because that's a different story for another day.  But check out these other articles about Autism that I wrote about.

New Autism And Assistive Technology

So I just learned about these glasses called Google Glass.  I know you are probably thinking where the heck have I been and how come I am just hearing about them now?  I ask myself that every day.  Too much daydreaming I guess, but anyway there was a study that had 14 families involved.  Each family had someone in their family who was on the spectrum.  12 out of the 14 families social interactions improved because of the Google Glass.

Could Google Glass Work Well In Classrooms

When I was in school I had trouble asking for help.  Even though it may seem so easy for people who don't have Autism to ask for help, it wasn't easy for me.  Perhaps I was afraid if I asked for help I would get made fun of in school by the bullies.  Maybe I was even a shy person.  I don't know the reason, but who really cares.  It's the past and it will just stay in the past.  I am moving on.  However, I am wondering could these glasses help in a classroom full of students who are on the spectrum why or why not?

Tech Companies Have A Theory

Tech companies have a theory.  Their theory is whether or not if they put AI assistance in the Glasses, would it help people with Autism understand body language better.  If they perfect that, then I would like to get a pair for myself because then I can understand if my mom is mad, sad, tired, bored and or just crazy.  I have gotten a lot better with body language reading, but I am not master at it and I would prefer a cheat sheet.

Do You Think Google Glass Could Be The Next Break Through?

Do you think the Google Glass could be the next breakthrough in technology for Autism why or why not?  Let me know in the comments below.  If you found this article interesting please consider sharing it.
