How To Follow Your Dreams With No Support

I have a very opinionated family that loves to share their opinions when I don't really want them.  It's like I don't even get a choice if I don't want to hear them or not.  Opinions are hard to listen to especially when it can be very critical or not supportive of one's dreams.   I found a really amazing Youtube video from this blogger who found a way to politely tell his parents that he wants to pursue his dreams with or without their support.   I am also going to talk about my dream, then I am going to attempt my own version myself.  So how to follow your dreams without support?

My Dream Job

I have a very specific dream that I have been having for multiple months and years now.  My dream job is to be a healthy living blogger and personal trainer that can work where ever and whenever I want.  I want to be my own boss, make my own schedule, work anywhere in the world.  Perhaps I even want to be a Beachbody trainer one day.  Yes, I know that sounds far-fetch, but that's a dream that I have been having for a long time.  Last night when I was at my best friend wedding I heard from the other groomsmen that they don't really like their jobs.  I actually said to them that I found my job more enjoyable than theirs, even though I don't get paid much to do it.  No, I am not talking about my Uber job, I am talking about this website.  My job sounds more entertaining than those jobs that they were talking about.

How To Follow Your Dreams With No Support Is Extremely Hard

When I created this website a bunch of people in my family didn't really get why I am doing it.  They also didn't really understand how they can support me and the website.  Some people in my family decided to tell me to just focus on school and not my website, which really hurts.  When people ask me to support them and their dreams I am like yea sure, but they don't do the same for me.  So I added a few things that some people could support my website as a nice gesture.

How To Follow Your Dreams With No Support Is Extremely Hard ( Part Two)

I started by opening my affiliate Shop.  If someone buys one of those products listed in the store or any item through the link I will get a small commission.  A simple and great idea on my part, but some people in my family didn't really understand how that works, and when I tried to explain to them some didn't listen or they listen with only one ear.

What Kind Of Support Was I Looking For?

I was hoping that my family members and all of my extended family would share my stuff around.  I would love for them to even follow my Brand on social media since most of them are on their multiple times a day.  This even to applies to some of my friends too, not all of them.  Perhaps it would be nice if they left comments on my articles and subscribe to my newsletter.  It only goes out once a week, not like I am spamming inboxes.

How To Follow Your Dreams With No Support And Give Up On Family Support

So now I am going to share a link to this person website that talks about how he followed his dreams without the support of his parents.  WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN YOUR FAMILY DOESN'T SUPPORT YOUR PASSION? SAY THIS. AND CHECKMATE. What I really liked about this video is that it hit the nail right on the head about how I was feeling two weekends ago.

My Turn And Checkmate

To those who say to me to get a 9 - 5 job you are probably right, I would have a steady job.  I would also have a steady income.  To those people who ask me if I really need a college degree for personal training.  The last time I looked at a website with information about certain job descriptions I found out that they recommend getting a bachelors degree in personal training.  This was 2 or 3 years ago the last I looked, but they were looking ahead by like 6 years.

My Turn And Checkmate ( Part Two)

You are totally right that I could get my certified personal training degree without college, but I owe it to myself.  Years ago I said I was not going to college, and 3 years later I enrolled.  I have to at least try to follow my dreams.  Even if I fail I want to try to follow my dreams so, I don't have any regrets.
